Welcome to Weight Loss On Trial

Cut through the crap by reading our member's reviews

This website is a way for people to tell the world when a weight loss product is not what it claims. There are two things we look out for:

1. Websites and companies that offer a free trial and then charge you full price 30 days later hoping you won't notice and then point to their terms of service saying you agreed to this. It's a scam and we're tired of seeing it.

2. Websites and companies that sell weight loss pills or diet plans that are not going to deliver what they claim.

We also pay for products and programs and then put them to the test. We take the best parts of each diet plan, workout plan and weight loss program, mix them all together in the most efficient way possible and then deliver it to you for no cost.

All we ask that you help us out by spreading the word.

Instructions:

If you mark any of the below as a YES, then we need to work on those issues first before attempting to lose weight. I know the last thing you want to hear is that you're not ready to lose weight, but please don't think of it that way. Let's get you ready to realise your dream!

1. Depression
If the only reason that you have any type or amount of depression is because of your weight, then you can mark this as a no. If you are depressed because of your work life, home life or social life then we need to try and deal with these issues.

2. Unsupportive or enabling girlfriend/boyfriend

In many cases, one of the people in a relationship is truely ready to lose the weight but the other person may not see this as a priority. Unsupportive can mean anythhing from someone not believing in you, to not wanting you to lose weight because they're afraid that they personally aren't able to do it. Enabling is when someone in your life keeps coming home with junk food and wanting to eat it at the worse times like just before bed. It's ten times harder when you have to sit and listen to someone eating chips when you're making a serious effort to lose weight.

3. comfort food

Every single person on the planet experiences bad moments and we all deal with them in different ways. I myself am a chocolate lover and will turn to a kit kat any time I need a pick me up. I find that it's a big help any time life is against me to take charge and say I can do whatever I want, watch this... and I open a pop/bag of chips/chocolate bar... you name it. It reminds me that I'm in control of my life by instantly improving my day just a little bit by having a can of coke. I'm amazed at how it makes me feel to grab some comfort food when something in my life is bothering me. If I make a mistake at work and it really makes me angry. I can control my feelings slightly by getting something I want like a chocolate bar. <--- can you read that sentence again, "by getting something I want". We spend our lives trying to get the things we want like a better job, more money or a nicer car. When bad things happen and stress kicks in it's the opposite of what we want, so how do we control the feelings? Yup you guessed it. So how do I lose weight??? How awesome would it be to find ten things that can give you the same effect that we need to reverse a bad moment with ZERO calories in it?

4. boredome

The thought of grabbing a bag of chips or your favorite junk food can give you a quick shot of adrenaline. It's an addicting and effective way of dealing with boring times. I'm sure we can all admit that there have been times that we turn to junk food even though we're not hungry. I can't say it enough, there's nothing wrong with this. Nothing at all, it's not something you have to stop doing. But... it's something that needs to be controlled. It's the AMOUNT that we take it that counts and even more important is the time of day that we take in junk food.

5. Parents

How can parent's be to blame for me having extra weight? Simple, ever hear the saying "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree"? It means we're more like our parents than we think. Yes we have our jeans passed down from them, but it's how they put food in front of you as you grew up that's to blame. If you have overweight parents, supplying oversized meals to their kids, it's very rare for the children to not be over weight as well. Many people contribute this to their jeans but it's not always the case and can be reversed. Here's the battle that you have in front of you if you grew up with parents that are overweight. As you grew up eating meals that were too large for the average child, you stomach expands. It's something that can happen in adulthood or in childhood. Most children will adapt to oversized meals in a matter of weeks and their stomach will grow larger. This means that it takes more food than average to give you the feeling of being full. It's all too easy to take in too many calories than you need and be overweight. What you have to overcome is the uncomfortable feeling of being hungry while you wait for your stomach to reduce itself over time. If you're eating smaller meals you'll be hungry sooner than your next meal and this is where we jump off the wagon. Hunger is not an easy thing to deal with and when food is in easy reach, we cave in. For most people this is the one thing that makes losing weight so difficult.
